Peter Halmagyi: Thank you for having me. I began my career in Hungary, where I studied at the Academy of Journalism and graduated with a degree in Photo Journalism. I worked at Budapest County Daily News and Evening Newspaper from 1976 to 1984. In 1987, I moved to Los Angeles and started my career in the United States.
Building an International Career:
Interviewer: You have an impressive portfolio, having worked with international press and photo agencies like AFP, AP, and Reuters. What was it like working with these organizations and covering events in over 140 countries?
Peter Halmagyi: It was an incredible experience. Working with these prestigious agencies allowed me to cover significant political and cultural events worldwide. I had the opportunity to photograph numerous celebrities and world leaders, which was both challenging and rewarding.

Interviewer: You've captured some of the most iconic figures in history. Can you share some memorable moments from your career?
Peter Halmagyi: Certainly. Some of the most memorable moments include photographing President Ronald Reagan and Francois Mitterrand. I was also the official photographer for King Birendra of Nepal on his 50th birthday celebration and for King George Tupou V of Tonga at his coronation in 2008.

Peter Halmagyi: One of the highlights was being invited by King George Tupou V of Tonga to be the exclusive photographer at his coronation in 2008. Another significant event was being the sole photographer to King Birendra of Nepal on his 50th birthday celebration at the King's palace in Kathmandu.
